On 20–21 October 2025, the Central European Academy will hold its PhD Thesis Workshop, designed to provide fourth-year doctoral students with practical experience in defending their dissertation research. The workshop will closely simulate the formal defence process, enabling candidates to present their key findings and arguments, respond to critiques, and address questions from experts. Each presentation will be followed by a discussion with assigned opponents who will offer constructive feedback and challenge the candidates’ work, creating an opportunity to strengthen both content and delivery. The event will conclude with an open Q&A session, giving participants the chance to refine their ability to engage with a broader audience. By replicating the dynamics of an official defence, the workshop aims to equip doctoral candidates with valuable skills and confidence as they prepare for their final examinations in the 2025/2026 academic year.
*The event is private and by invitation only.
