On 17 and 18 March 2025, Prof. Slavko Đorđević, a Full-Time professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Kragujevac, delivered a comprehensive lecture on multilateralism and bilateralism in international law, with a particular focus on their treatment within EU Private International Law. Referencing contemporary political and legal debates in Europe, he highlighted the significance of the Hague Conference on Private International Law in shaping the EU’s external relations with third States. While acknowledging the practical advantages of bilateralism in certain situations, he provided a compelling analysis of why bilateral relations must align with a multilateral approach to uphold international standards of justice and cooperation.
Central European Academy express its heartfelt gratitude to the professor for the visit and inspiring lecture!
